How We Stay Safe
Attending In Person
Joining A Class
Our face-to-face classes take place in the Unitarian Church building at 72 Berkeley Street, Glasgow G3 7DS close to the Mitchell Library.
- Please ensure that you let us know directly if you are coming, or if you are not able to join us, so that we know the numbers for the class. We need to know how many people will be in the room, so we can set up appropriately for the class and also provide this information for the Unitarian Church’s COVID register. You can email us at info@dynamicmeladies.co.uk or text/phone us on 07714 459 243.
- It would be extremely helpful to us if you are able to pay for the class in advance online via our PayPal link or at our website via Stripe. If, for any reason, you are unable to do this you can still pay in cash for the class on the day but please do let us know in advance that you will be coming along.
- If you are displaying any COVID symptoms, or suspect you may be infected, please let us know and do not attend the class in person. You are welcome to join us online instead, if you are feeling up to it.
- If either of us tests positive, we will be in touch and the class will take place over Zoom instead.
- Please ensure that we have an up-to-date phone number and email address for you so, should we need to, we can easily get in touch with you.
Arriving At The Class
- Please arrive promptly to be ready to start the class at the appointed time.
- Enter the building down the stairs to the right of the front door and come in through the fire exit and straight through the small room into our main space. The doors will be open when you arrive.
- Although it is no longer a requirement to wear a mask, you are welcome to do so if this would make you feel more comfortable.
- We will ensure that the room is clean before you arrive. We will also need to sanitize the room at the end of the class for the next hirers coming in.
- There will be hand sanitizer available at the venue, but you can also bring your own with you if you wish.
- Please bring your own resealable water bottle with you. Unsealed receptacles, such as cups, left out are at risk of being contaminated by aerosols.
- We will set out individual ‘stations’, marked by cones, for each person to occupy during the class. If you are required to move during the class, please endeavour to maintain social distancing as much as possible.
- When you arrive, please find yourself a spot. Depending on the number of people attending, we may or may not be able to set chairs out at each ‘station’ for the start of the class. If the chairs are out, for security, please hang your coat on your chair and keep your bag either under or immediately beside it. If the chairs are not out, please fold up your coat and keep it and your bag beside you until we set the chairs out later.
- If the group is larger and we are not able to set chairs out safely for the beginning of the class then, after the warm-ups, we will put out a chair at each ‘station’ for you to sit on whenever you wish.
During The Class
- We will periodically ask everyone to stand, for example in order to sing through the whole of a song. At this point, please stand directly in front of your chair.
Please be aware that the doors (including the external door) will remain open during the class, for ventilation purposes. You may therefore wish to dress more warmly or have an extra layer with you that you can put on. There is heating in the room, but the open doors can create a bit of a draft. We try to minimize this as much as possible but do need to ensure that there is good ventilation in the room.
- We will provide lyrics at the classes. Please let us know if you require lyrics in a large print format.
- Our face-to-face Saturday class runs from 10.30am – 12.30pm. There will be 10 - 15 minutes available, towards the end of the class, for refreshments and chat.
- We will have tea, coffee and cookies available at the end of the class. You can queue at the kitchen counter, observing social distancing, and collect your drink/cookie but please then return to your seat to consume them.
At The End of The Class
- We will provide anti-bacterial wipes and will ask you to please wipe down your chair and stack it, before your leave.
- To enable us to clear up and clean the room for the next users, we need everyone to be away on a Saturday by 12.30pm. Please leave us to dismantle and pack all of our equipment, and deal with cleaning the room, in order to have as few people touching items as possible.
- Please ensure that you take all of your belongings (water bottle, glasses etc.) with you when you leave.
Attending Online
- Please ensure that you let us know directly if you are coming, or if you are not able to join us, so that we know who is joining us online and can make sure that we have everything set up ready for you.
- It would be extremely helpful if you are able to purchase your ticket by Friday night at the latest, for the Saturday class, and by 4.30pm at the latest for the evening class. We are busy setting up during the time immediately prior to the classes starting and trying to deal with sending out tickets and login details, in addition to this, is problematic for us to manage.
- Please ensure that we have an up-to-date phone number and email address for you so, should we need to, we can easily get in touch with you.
- Please login at least five minutes before the time the class is due to start in case you, or we, have any technical problems that need to be sorted out.
- We need you to speak up if you are having problems with anything during the class. We will endeavour to watch out for any issues and will check periodically that you are picking up the songs okay, but it would be really helpful if you could alert us if you are getting stuck or are unsure about anything. We will check that you are able to mute and unmute yourself.
- We will send you lyrics, and any other information that you need for the class, in advance. Please let us know if you require lyrics in a large print format.
