It's been good to see a number of programmes broadcasted recently about pioneering women singers. On Friday 4th October, on BBC4 at 10.30pm, there is one on Betty Davis, a jazz-fusion pioneer who was married to Miles Davis and is being billed as the Godmother of Funk.
