Singing Workshop – Rhythm And Movement

Where: Unitarian Church, 72 Berkeley Street, Glasgow G3 7DS (Please note this is our new venue for all our Sessions and Workshops on a Saturday morning)

This Saturday we are running the next of our monthly Singing Workshops helping you to develop and strengthen your singing voice. Appropriately for our move to new premises, this month we are going to focus on rhythm and movement!

The Workshop will look at:

• The importance of knowing where the beat is and fitting words to it
• Developing a sense of timing
• Those awkward things like ‘how do I stand?’ and ‘what do I do with my hands?’ when singing
• Incorporating movement into singing

We will also be working on songs in the Workshop, particularly thinking towards the opportunities for performance coming up. Whether or not you wish to take part in these performances, learning more about rhythm, timing, posture and movement will help you to develop more confidence in your singing.
